If we were at the final mile of life’s journey, in the last second of our existence, would we relive our lives in our minds like a film racing at a thousandfold speed?
This artwork captures and freezes that fleeting moment. Drawing inspiration from the pointillist tradition, I constructed the background using thousands of delicate, spectral hues to evoke the overwhelming rush of sensations experienced in a single second. Through the interplay of light and optical effects, still forms begin to shimmer, as if awakening to life.
At the center, peaches of longevity symbolize the eternal yearning for immortality, while the figure of a praying elder embodies the act of savoring life’s final moments with profound awareness. This piece exists at the threshold—the junction between this world and the next—where a quiet, timeless magic unfolds, echoing across generations.
