4. Currents of Felt Experience
2025 Felting
This series was inspired by my experience of having a fever. Whenever I ran a fever, a sense of agency would take over my perception of body ownership. Particularly during nighttime dreams, I often felt as if I were growing uncontrollably, to the point where the room could no longer contain me. Drawing from this experience, I reshaped my body parts by rotating, overlaying, repeating, and flipping them into a new form, assembling them with wool felt. As the knitting needle shuttled back and forth, the wool gradually “stuck together,” transforming into an entirely new organ.
The work aims to simulate a scenario in which body parts develop their own agency, responding autonomously and ultimately transcending current biological constraints. When displayed individually, each body piece exists outside the traditional human system, yet functions in harmony within itself. Directly exposed to the air, these pieces invite the audience to come closer—to breathe, touch, and experience their presence in the moment.
